SERVICES
NDT Reports is a non-destructive testing laboratory that performs testing and supervision of welded structures, forgings and other metallurgical products. Wherever your company is located, from however different sector, our laboratory will perform non-destructive testing for you in a variety of methods:
VT – Visual Inspection
Visual Testing is the primary means of inspecting various types of structures and involves visual inspection of the surface to be tested. The visual method is most often used in conjunction with another nondestructive testing method, treated as a preliminary test. With this method, it is possible to identify and evaluate inconsistencies present on the surface of the test object. We can use visual testing at the stage of preparing a component in the production process, checking quality during manufacturing and for testing finished products.
PT – Penetrant Inspection
Penetrant Testing makes it possible to detect surface defects in all kinds of materials and products. The method is applied to ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials. Very often used in austenitic steels and places where the magnetic particle method cannot be used. Penetrant testing uses the phenomenon of capillarity, which involves the penetration of liquids into narrow and hard-to-reach spaces and filling them, also despite the force of gravity. The liquid used in this type of testing is called a penetrant, which is designed to penetrate into surface openings. After a suitable penetration time, it must be removed from the surface. The developer is then applied. After drying completely and waiting the appropriate development time, a final evaluation is made.
MPI – Magnetic Particle Inspection
The Magnetic Particle testing method allows the detection of surface defects in ferromagnetic materials. This method is performed quite quickly, which is why it is the most widely used. The method involves creating a magnetic field in the object under examination. Magnetization of the object can be done by introducing a magnetic field (yoke defectoscope) or by introducing an electric current (contact electrodes). The magnetic field in the object can be introduced with a yoke defectoscope or induced by the flow of an electric current.
UT – Ultrasonic Testing
Ultrasonic Testing belongs to the group of volumetric tests. In brief, the ultrasonic method involves the emission of ultrasonic waves produced by head transducers and recording them after they pass through the test substance, and then evaluating the resulting pulses. Testing by ultrasonic methods allows inspection of objects produced as a result of the rolling, casting, forging, drawing and welding process of ferritic steels, austenitic steels, aluminum, copper alloys, lead, nickel or composite materials. Using this method, it is possible to determine the type of defect, dimensions and its location. Ultrasonic testing is often chosen instead of radiographic testing because of the speed of obtaining results.
UTT – Ultrasonic Thickness Testing
Using Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, it is possible to determine differences in material thickness, material loss and corrosion wear, so it is used to inspect the condition of objects in service. This method uses ultrasonic waves emitted from a piezoelectric transducer placed in the head. The result of the test is obtained based on the calculated time of passage of the wave through the tested component. One-sided access to the test item is sufficient to perform the measurements. The surface should be free of dirt, rust, etc., at the same time it is not necessary to remove the paint coating.
HT – Hardness Testing
Hardness Tests are used to verify the correctness of thermal, thermo-chemical and welding processes. Leeb’s method is based on measuring the velocity of the impact mass before and after hitting the sample, and the corresponding conversion of the obtained values by the device. A device consisting of an electronic module is used for the measurement, which is connected to the impact head. The measurement is carried out by applying the head to the test surface. The test surface should be dry and free of oxide layer, impurities, etc. The measurement results are given in HL, HV, HB, HRC, HRB scale.
The laboratory’s services also include:
The testing and evaluation personnel is qualified and certified in level II and III according to EN ISO 9712. We perform testing based on international standards such as: EN, ISO, NORSOK, ASME or according to customer requirements. We hold numerous certificates and recognitions: Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA) for compliance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02, TUV Rheinland confirming compliance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO 9001:2015, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Bureau Veritas (BV), and a permit from the President of the State Atomic Energy Agency (PAA). We achieve high quality services with equipment from reputable companies recognized worldwide. All measuring and technical equipment is continuously checked and calibrated, which is certified. In our work, we pay special attention to safety, as well as good working conditions, which is why we emphasize appropriate equipment and personnel safety.
